Over Christmas, a new feature was added giving users the ability to view food photos based on a particular city. They are linked from both the user profile and individual dish review pages.

I recently discovered a whole set of spam dish comments. The spam seems to be automated. I added a new feature that allows me to mark comments as spam so they won't be displayed.

To improve user experience, we have greater reduced the size of food photo thumbnails. Photos in the grid will now load faster on desktops and mobile.

Improved the user login process so that the user isn't intermittently logged out.

Made another incremental improvement on the search engine to return faster and better dish results.

Minor optimizations to the dish search feature.

Updated the performance of the dish review process. Now, the first step is to upload the photo. This allows the reviewer to see a thumbnail of the uploaded picture while meta data can be added. When the meta data is added, then the review is complete and available.

Relaxed the requirement for a keyword during the dish review searches. Before, at least one keyword was required, even if the location was set. Now, a search can be done for all dish reviews in a particular location.

Updated the thumbnails so that "taller" images are cropped in the center to avoid distorted thumbnail images.

On each Dish Review details page, members can now "bookmark" their favorite dishes for a later time.

Added a new location system that allows the user to save their current location to a cookie. In the future, pages will be migrated to search for dish reviews in that cities surroundings.

Added the ability to search for dishes by your location. Currently, most of the dishes are located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Added new logos, including the main DishShout logo which is now blue. There is also a favicon icon. Next, the homepage has been updated to include more information on what DishShout.com is all about. Lastly, on each DishReview page, other DishReviews that have similar details are displayed.

Added a new simple Tag Management system to help improve the search capabilities.

Applied basic SEO techniques so Dish Reviews can be easier indexed by search engines. This was done to give the site more exposure.

A Google +1 badge has been added to the top right of every page. In the future, we may limit the +1 badge to only pages with unique content.

Each Dish Review now has it's own unique page where information is displayed about the post. The Dish Review will be enhanced with additional information in the future. Other enhancements to the website include a rudimentary search page for keywords.

Added "Recently Added Dish Review" Section. Added a simple slider to show the dish name and the restaurant. The link is current not available, but in the future should point to the restaurant, and show all dishes uploaded from that restaurant.

New feature for Dish Reviews that enables tags to identify via keywords of length 50. Unlimited tags can be added for each Dish Review.
